A DEEPER DIVE INTO MANAGING YOUR PERIMENOPAUSE AND MENOPAUSE

A deeper dive into managing your perimenopause and menopause

The period of time up to the Menopause, the Perimenopause can last years. It can bring a wide range of symptoms and you don’t need to go through it alone.

There are so many symptoms that you might experience during what can be a long period of time that it is difficult to cover them in just one talk which is why I have split them up in to four different modules following on from Fortify your 40s talk.

The four topics covered are as follows, sleep, pelvic health, lifestyle and nutrition and lifestyle and exercise

Within each module, I’ll be covering the common symptoms and problems related to the topic that can materialise through this phase, give you an understanding of why these happen and give you manageable action points to help manage the symptoms.

Sleep – whether it’s waking up in the night and then staying awake or finding it difficult to sleep in the first place, there are lots of things for you to try and improve your sleep routine.

Pelvic health – issues with stress incontinence can worsen during this time so looking after your overall pelvic health can help manage this. Learning about pelvic floor coordination will help you understand that pelvic health is a whole-body approach and not just a quick squeeze of the pelvic floor when sitting in the car at traffic lights.

Lifestyle and nutrition – there’s so much information out there about diet and nutrition and weight management which can be a problem as we enter this phase of changing hormones, so which information should we follow? One of the biggest factors in managing unwanted weight gain is blood sugar regulation and I will be discussing this along with other factors in how and when you eat that can help you manage your energy levels and weight.

Lifestyle and exercise – we are regularly told that exercise is important to stay healthy but what exercise is best at this life phase? You may need to rethink how you exercise because what used to work for you in terms of weight management and mental health benefits may not be the case now. Find out why this is the case and what changes may improve this for you.
